However, selection of staff is on competitive platform and global ethics and standard. All posts are filled in accordance with WHO’s competency model.
There are two key categories of staff at WHO: professionals(P) or directors(D) who are internationally recruited; and generals(G) or national professional officers(NPO) who are recruited locally for both fixed or short term positions. We equally run internship opportunities for junior professional officers(JPO).

Salaries And Benefits
WHO is a tier of the United Nation and it’s remunerations and benefit packages is governed by the International Civil Service Commission. Salaries in the professional and higher categories are made up of two main elements: a base salary and a post adjustment. The post adjustment is an allowance based of the cost-of-living, exchange rate fluctuations and inflation in the different locations of assignment.
The salary scale for locally recruited staff is based on the policy of the International Civil Service Commission which varies from country to country.
NOTE: WHO is a unique institution with various lucrative work-space. It is however pertinent that you know our key points as a potential staff of our organization.
